男性20代 On the far side of the bridge, the wooden building on the right was a fittings shop. The building in the center appears to be the Shinwa Bank (now Juhachi-Shinwa Bank). Neither structure exists today. In the background, you can see Mt. Hoka.

Due to the atomic bombing and later redevelopment, most of the original buildings were replaced, and the cityscape has changed significantly. However, in Nagasaki’s case, the ridgelines of the surrounding mountains have remained largely the same, offering valuable clues for identifying photo locations.This image is also featured in the educational slide material “Everyday Life in Nagasaki Before the Atomic Bomb: Living in the Downtown Area.”
